Core Values

Pursue Jesus

We are worshippers first. Everything we do—on stage and behind the scenes—flows from a desire to know Jesus more deeply. Our rehearsals, planning, and services are rooted in prayer and a hunger to walk closely with Him, not just create a moment.

“Come near to God and he will come near to you.” — James 4:8a (NIV)

Build Authentic Community

We are more than a team; we are a family. We prioritize relationships, celebrate one another’s wins, and walk through challenges together. Unity off the platform strengthens our worship on it, and we are intentional about creating space for connection and encouragement.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2 (NIV)

Strive for Excellence

We believe excellence honors God and inspires people. While perfection is not the goal, growth is. We invest in our musical craft, spiritual maturity, and team collaboration—bringing our best while relying on His grace to fill the gaps.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” — Colossians 3:23 (NIV)

Serve with Compassion

Worship is service. We lead not to be seen, but to point others to Jesus. Whether we’re helping a new volunteer, supporting another ministry, or setting the tone for the room, we lead with a heart to uplift and serve others.

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” — 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)

🎽 Memphis Christian Worship Team Dress Code

“Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility…” — Colossians 3:12

Our appearance on stage reflects our heart to lead with excellence and remove distractions. We’re not aiming to impress—we’re aiming to serve and represent Christ well. The goal is to present ourselves in a way that is modest and unified, so the focus stays on worship, not wardrobe.

General Guidelines

  • Modesty matters.
  • Dresses and skirts should fall below the knee, whether sitting or standing.
  • No short shorts, mini skirts, low-cut tops, or clothing that’s too tight or revealing.
  • If you have to ask if it’s too much—it probably is.
  • Neat & Presentable.
  • Clothing should be clean, wrinkle-free, and free of rips/tears (intentional fashion rips are okay in moderation).
  • Avoid distractions.
  • No overly flashy patterns, neon colors, or large logos/graphics that could draw attention away from worship.
  • Footwear.
  • Shoes should be clean and appropriate
  • No flip-flops or slides on stage, please.

Style Tips by Role

  • Vocalists:
  • Layers work great (jackets, cardigans, vests).
  • Musicians:
  • Prioritize comfort and movement. If you’re bending down for pedalboards or moving gear, be mindful of clothing that rides up or exposes.
  • Tech/Production:
  • All-black or dark colors are preferred for behind-the-scenes roles to stay inconspicuous on stage or in the booth.

Color Coordination (Seasonal & Special Sundays)

From time to time, we’ll suggest color themes to create a unified and thoughtful look—especially during special seasons like Christmas and Easter. These suggestions are not rigid rules but invitations to reflect the season with beauty and purpose.

  • 🎄 Christmas:
  • i.e, deep reds, forest greens, gold, cream, and black—think warm, festive, and elegant.
  • ✝️ Easter:
  • Light pastels, white, soft blues, blush, lavender, beige—colors that reflect new life and resurrection joy. Keep it fresh, modest, and celebration-worthy.

When in Doubt

Ask the worship pastor (Dan) or tech director (Bronlym)! We’re here to help, not to critique. This dress code is meant to set a standard, not to shame. Grace leads the way.
